Hello! We are William and Mary (yea, like the college)

We’re two retired teachers who’ve been married over 40 years, and lately life nudged us to make a pretty big change.

We decided to sell the home where we raised our kids, let go of a lot of the things we’d collected over the years, and start building a life with more flexibility for travel, family, and new experiences.

It wasn’t sudden. It grew out of many small talks at the kitchen table about what we wanted this next chapter to look like.

We’re not experts and we don’t have a perfect plan — we just reached a point where choosing change felt better than standing still.

Kakkoii - Cool

Visiting Japan is an inspiration for respect, balance and new learning. We began learning the Japanese language recently with a popular language app. One of the first words we learned was Kakkoii, pronounced kak ko ee ee and it is a common way to say "cool". Not only does it have a fun meaning, it is fun to say. During our adventures, we find the word "cool" coming up often as we try to describe Who We See, What We See and What We Are Experiencing. We decided to name our company "Kakkoii Adventures" to remind us to have cool adventures, so that everything we experience brings us to an exclamation of: COOL! - KAKKOII!
