Star Forts

While in Hakodate, we visited Goryōkaku (五稜郭, lit. 'five-point fort'). This was a fascinating visit, as we had never heard of a Star Fort. Goryokaku turned into an educational and historical adventure. When we visited Florida several months later, we visited the St. Augustine's Star Fort called Castillo de San Marcos. We now have a themed focus on our travels: Star Forts!
